Faith in New Beginnings

Moved, Moving, or Scared to Move to a New City?
You’re in great company — me too.

Let me start by telling you a little bit about myself.
My name is Nate. I was born and raised in Upstate New York, and just three days ago, I moved down south to Savannah, Georgia.
I’m also a Christian — I came to faith about a year ago. (More on that in the next post.)

This blog is for young Christian men like us — stepping out, starting over, and staying rooted.
It’s a travel guide of sorts: not just for the roads and restaurants, but for navigating the spiritual terrain of moving to a new city.
I’ll be sharing tips, insights, and encouragement on how to stay close to God’s Word while building a Christlike community and fellowship.

I’d love to say I moved here alone, but honestly — that would dishonor Jesus Christ.
He’s been with me every step of the way. And that brings me to our first topic:

Before You Move, Let’s Talk About Faith.

People will say, “You’re taking a leap of faith!”
But the truth is: if your foundation isn’t rooted in Christ, it really is just a blind leap.
I don’t say that to scare you — I say it to sharpen you.

Proverbs 3:5–6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

Without trust in God, we’re stuck relying on our own limited understanding — and let’s be real:
that never leads anywhere good.
But with Christ, the road — no matter how unfamiliar — is never walked alone.

So before you move, I want to encourage you: be in prayer about your journey.
Ask God to go before you — to lead, to guide, and to confirm.
Fasting can be a powerful way to quiet the noise and tune into His will.
And don’t underestimate the importance of having brothers in Christ pray over you and with you before you go.
We were never meant to do this alone.

You’ve got this — but not because of you.
Not I, but Christ in me.

Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Let that be your confidence — not your plans, not your hustle, not your bravery.
Just Jesus. Always Jesus.
